Czech player Marek Viscak made it second time lucky in the final leg of the Paradise Poker Tour in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria, taking down the tournament by beating superbly named Aske Muff heads up.Marek had finished in 2nd place in the first event in London in October and to go one better in winning this event left the Czech elated.
“I feel great to have won after coming second in London,” said the new champ.
“The last 15 players in this tournament were a lot tougher than those in London and it was important for me to finish in the top three places and be second in the Tour League. This was one of the three best cashes I’ve had since I started playing poker, so I’m really pleased with the result.”
The winning hand was an interesting one, as the cash went in with Marek holding a flush draw against Muff’s top pair with Queen/Ten on a Qd Jd 4C board. Marek had an Eight and Seven of diamonds.
However the turn was a 6, which meant he had a gutshot as well to go with his flush draw, and it was this gutshot which duly hit with the 5 of clubs seeing Muff’s hopes taking a dive.
Now preperations and qualification will be beginning for the next Paradise Poker Tour, and the next leg is very soon, in Algarve Vilamoura.
