Full Tilt have a direct $1 satellite to the WSOP in Vegas today and every Sunday between now and June. I’ve already played in 1 of these, and although there are around 30000 runners it is still a must-play tournament as there are five $12 packages guaranteed, so that is a 30k overlay already. Last year when I was in Vegas, I would often see Doyle Brunson making his way through the Venetian, to play in the famous Bobby’s Room game and it amazed me how amiable he was to the many random strangers who would stop and chat to him, before he settled down for a marathon session of poker. I first went to Ibiza on a family holiday when I was 11. the year was 1986, and I was a bit too young to appreciate what was happening there, as Acid House and Balearic beat were sweeping across the Island, before the sound was brought back to the UK to explode in the warehouses of the north. Imagine being stuck on a boat, where all there was to do was play poker. Sounds like heaven. Now imagine that the boat stops off at various destinations including Mexico, Jamaica and Labadee ( no I haven’t heard of it either, but its an exclusive beach and water sports paradise, supposedly) in between the marathon nautical poker sessions and it really does sound like heaven. I was fortunate enough to win a seat in the WSOP Event 51 with Paradise Poker last year, and it was one of the best experiences I have had in poker.
